Cavaliers Defeat Celtics in Game 3, Take 2-1 Series Lead

Kyrie Irving's 32 Points Not Enough as Cavs Win 114-111

CLEVELAND, Ohio - The Cleveland Cavaliers took a 2-1 lead in the Eastern Conference Finals on Friday night, defeating the Boston Celtics 114-111 in Game 3. Kyrie Irving led the way for the Cavaliers with 32 points, but it was the bench that provided the spark in the fourth quarter to secure the victory.

With Irving sidelined with a leg injury, the Cavaliers turned to J.R. Smith, who scored 19 points off the bench. Smith hit a key three-pointer with 1:25 remaining to give the Cavaliers a 110-106 lead, and Tristan Thompson added a layup on the next possession to seal the win.

The Celtics were led by Isaiah Thomas, who scored 28 points. However, the Celtics' bench was outscored by the Cavaliers' bench 45-22, and the Celtics shot just 40.7% from the field.

The Cavaliers now have a chance to take a commanding 3-1 lead in the series when they host the Celtics in Game 4 on Sunday night.
